
Department & Teams
Our Medical Teams are compiled of a variety of doctors and staff with a diverse area of expertise and skills. With a staff composed of 26 licensed Veterinarians, 8 specialized Veterinarians, 74Veterinary Technicians and assistants, 48 Client Care Representatives, and Administrative Support Staff, our team numbers over 145 people.
General Care Team
Our General Care team is composed of 8 licensed Veterinarians, 15 Veterinary Technicians and 7 Veterinary Assistants. As a team, we are here to provide you with primary health care and preventive health maintenance programs for your pet. Our team has developed many great relationships with our clients and their pets over the years. We vary from well seasoned veterinarians to new recent additions such as Drs. Gower and van Haaften, giving us a diverse selection of well educated and experienced staff.
Emergency Services
Our emergency service alone sees over 7,000 cases a year, challenging us with situations ranging from delivering newborns to helping our oldest and sickest patients pass peacefully as well as almost everything imaginable in between. No two days are the same but our team is there to help you are your pet in the best way we can.
Specialized Services
Our specialists represent a broad cross section of veterinary specialties (both medical and surgical) which enables them to diagnose and treat a wide variety of small animal diseases. They work together in a collegial atmosphere to best serve you and your pet.
Reception and Client Services
The Alta Vista Animal Hospital has two teams that work our front desk areas. One team manages our daily activity in the General Care side of our business and the other manages the Emergency hours as well as our Speciality Services clients. On top of the great service you will receive from our front house staff, we also have an award winning Client Care Center who tends to all your important phone calls. They manage over 6500 calls per month. They help with everything from booking your appointments, updating you on your pet's status after a procedure as well as help answer any urgent questions you may have!
Maintenance & Inventory
Our Maintenance Team works hard to ensure the hospital is a clean and safe place for both our staff and patients. The team is led by a manager who has received specialized training in health and safety within a hospital setting. Our Inventory Manager ensures we have everything we need on a daily basis to keep the hospital running smoothly, from food and medications to surgery gowns and syringes. He also assists many of our clients with specialty food orders.
