Personal Bio

An Ottawa native, Arvo was inspired at a young age to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. After receiving his DVM, he worked briefly at an Ottawa practice before moving to Windsor where he split his time between three clinics including Windsor's first Cat Clinic. Homesickness lured him to move back to Ottawa during the ice storm of 1998, but it was the level of excellence and strong reputation that lured him to his other 'home' at Alta Vista Animal Hospital.

Professional interests include canine and feline medicine, surgery and preventative medicine. Dr. Artna participates actively in continuing education to remain up to date on medical advances and preventative health initiatives. The reward of sustaining and enriching the bond between pets and their owners is what motivates him to take up this challenge.

Arvo, his wife Annette, and daughter Erin share their home with three pets: Lydia, a curious greyhound and two lovable cats, Patrick and Flounder.
